On July 30, 2019, I almost drove past him.
He was on the side of the road, barely alive. Emaciated, missing teeth, matted and broken — just another dog the world had given up on. But something made me stop. And that decision changed both of our lives forever.

I didn’t know if he was going to make it. Honestly, neither did the vet. But Scrappy had something in him that refused to quit. Day by day, week by week, he fought his way back. More food. More love. More time. And slowly, the dog nobody wanted became the dog everybody needed to meet.

One year later he was unrecognizable — healthy, happy, and full of life. And somewhere in watching him come back, I realized he was teaching me something about second chances. About redemption. About what’s possible when someone just refuses to give up on you.

Today Scrappy goes everywhere I go. He’s not just my dog — he’s my co-pilot. Every trail, every backroad, every adventure — he’s right there with me. My little copilot, keeping me honest and keeping me company every mile of the way.

The AK logo is Scrappy rising like a phoenix from the mountains. Because that’s exactly what he did — rose from nothing and became everything. Every time you see it, remember: redemption is real, second chances exist, and your best chapter is still ahead.

He is living proof that it’s never too late for a second chance.
