The AK logo is Scrappy rising like a phoenix from the mountains. Because that’s exactly what he did — he rose from nothing and became everything.

On July 30, 2019, I almost drove right past him.

He was on the side of the road, barely alive — emaciated, missing teeth, matted, and broken. Just another dog the world had given up on. But something made me stop.

I didn’t know if he was going to make it. The vet wasn’t sure either. But Scrappy had a fight in him that refused to quit.

One year later, he was completely transformed — healthy, happy, and full of life. Watching him come back from nothing taught me something powerful about redemption and second
chances.

Today Scrappy goes everywhere with me. He’s not just my dog — he’s my co-pilot, my little adventure partner on every backroad and every trail.
